Student Health Holds

Holds from our office on your Esther account can be a student health hold, vaccine hold, or a health data hold.

The student health hold will be for equipment (crutches, blood pressure monitors, etc.) check out that is overdue. Please bring back your equipment or call to make payment to have the hold removed.

The ME hold is for the Health Data Form. This hold will be in place until your Health Data Form has been received and processed by our office

The VA hold is for the meningitis vaccine. This hold will remain in place until you have provided documentation of the vaccine (if under age 22).

Please allow up to three business days for records submitted through the portal to be processed and, if requirements are met, marked compliant.

SHS does not directly remove holds from student accounts. Rice University updates student compliance records weekly. Once you are marked compliant, your hold will be automatically removed during the next scheduled system update.
